I went to bolt on my Z06 clutch the other day and noticed that there were only three bolts holding the PP to the flywheel and the other three holes were empty. (It was assembled in the box.) I'm 0-for-4 at the parts departments of the local Chevy dealers trying to find just the bolts. Has anyone else been shorted bolts? (They did try to sell me a new PP for $575 though.....) Can I just use any M10x1.5X25mm bolt from the hardware store? Maybe some grade 8s?

Re use the ones that are holding your old pressure plate/flywheel together. The ones that came with the kit are just to hold everything together the way they were balanced at the factory, they aren't meant to be used.

Thanks for the quick reply, but there wasn't a clutch on the motor when I bought it. I found a dealer on the way home from work who says he has some (for $1.75 each!!!) so I'll just pick up 6.

So I go a different way home to stop by the dealership and when I get there they say that they don't have any. I don't remember who I talked to on the phone, but now I have to order them because nobody stocks them. They come in a package of 10. I only need 6. Anyone need a few spares? They should be here by Friday.

I hate stuff like that, ie 8 buns, 10 hot dogs.

Another good one is lug nuts, come in packages of 4, sure if you need them for all 4 rims you can buy 5 packages, but why not sell them in 5's like most American cars have? :S
