Who is the fastest true shifted 6 speed (actually using the clutch, not face plated)? Anybody?

They are all shifted with the clutch. Faceplating doesn't eliminate the need for a clutch. It removes many of the small pieces that can fail. It basically makes the transmission more reliable and allows it to shift better at high RPM.

yeah, i don't know anyone who is clutchlessly shifting a six speed. there are several who powershift/no-lift-shift, but that ain't me...heard its pretty rought on the trans.

11.90 @ 117.79 - 1.73 Stock LS6 clutch ------346------N/A ---- 3400 - High Impact

Barely made the list! Clutch was slipping on the launch and during the first half of the track...I will be spraying 100 - 150 shot next spring after I install a new clutch.

Well you ain't using the clutch like a standard and that's for sure. Maybe I should refrase what I was asking. Who on that list is using a synchronized shifted trans. Not face plated where all you do is use it in first and barely tap the clutch to get it to go in. I'm looking for a true shifted 6 speed.

How do you use a clutch then? I don't think you understand what
The differences are between a synchronized tranny and one with
Faceplated gears.
Actually with a faceplated tranny you better be more precise with
Your shifting because there's no syncros to help it go into the
Correct gear. It will go from 2nd to 1st or 3rd to 2nd just as
Easy as going into the right gear!

Exactly . My faceplated trans won't come out of gear unless the clutch is pressed, or I let off the gas. A faceplated trans still passes through neutral on every shift.
2 fast 2000, You must be thinking of a true clutchless which is in gear at all times, even during a shift.

No Im pretty sure I used the clutch just like everyone else... I launch with the clutch, I push it in on every shift and I push it in when I go through the traps.

There is no synchronized T56 fast list...

Garth Weaver went 7.98@183. He holds the T56 overall record.

Look guys I'm not hating or throwing stones. You guys know what I mean. I've had a face plated trans and regardless of what you all say it's not the same. It was twice as easy to shift at high rpm's. I only had to tap the clutch. I got rid of it because I had a hell of a time on the street driving it because only on certain rare occasions could I get it to down shift. I'm well aware of what I'm talking about. So I'm just asking who on that list is the fastest without a face plated T56? I'm just curious. That's all. If nobody knows that's fine also. Thanks....

I believe that Ray went 9.3x's in a synchro'd T56... I could be wrong though.

i still have my syncronzed trans as a backup and im confedent i could still go as fast with it but forsure 8s with it no problem. the faceplated trans is not a world beater but i do love the way it shifts and i feel more consistant with it.
