"burn mark" on pressure plate.. no good?
So I had a rear main seal leak, I"m getting that fixed right now and they have the whole thing apart. The clutch disc does not appear to have any oil in it at all.. which is strange because it was slipping a bit and is a little glazed over. I think the glaze will clean off though.. at least I hope. The transmission shop is telling me it's no good though.
The pressure plate though has a small dark mark on it, and I am being told by the transmission shop that it's no good and will chatter when engaged now.
Is this true? It still seems fine and is not smoothed out to the touch...
What do you guys think? Any way to tell? This clutch has only 500 miles on it tops.. I just put the engine in and I really don't want to waste money on a new one if this will hold up fine.
It's a monster stage two clutch, and it's behind a 450whp LQ9
