Default 3/4 synchro issue

My 3/4 synchro is somehow making contact with the input shaft galling the hub.
This is a trans that I bought used and I have never personally run it.

I tore it down to change the main shaft and tail housing and found this.

What do I need to do?

Are the keys broken in the 3/4 syncro? Kinda looks like one is broken in the pic...the picture isn't that clear.

The scuffing you pointed out may be due to excessive endplay of the input/mainshaft. Does the tip of the input shaft look good? A failed pilot bearing could have possibly happened at some point which would have allowed the input to "wobble" around a bit and possibly cause the marks you see.

Otherwise, the snap ring that retains the syncro could be worn a bit or even failed sometime previously... Had the trans ever been apart before?
