I just installed a Stage 3 into a 99 Z28 with cam, etc. Installed new flywheel, PP, and updated slave. Anyway, I brought my busted disc over to show the guy what it looked like, well, we held them together, and they were exactly the same size, diameter and everything, couldnt tell them apart, other than mine was missing 3 springs and another one was cracked. I thought that to be unusual, that the discs for LT1 and LS1 to be the same, even though the LS1 stock disc is larger. The new PP was different than stock plate though, and it seemed to have a smaller diameter friction surface than the stock LS1 pp.

I know what you mean about these performance manufacturers trying to point blame everywhere else. I've had the same crap with Spec. My flywheel wasn't properly balanced. Now since I just replaced my crappy Goodyear GT2's with Kuhmo 711's and my clutch doesn't feel like it likes the additional traction at all. I'll find out at the track tonight.

How do you know which version of the SPEC 3 you have. The vendor I got mine from said it was the new hybrid one that clamps better but I didn't see any markings that said 3 or 3I.
