Default Settle my arguement

In 98 Camaro z28, was there not actually (2) 6spd manual choices? One of 'em was called performance, and the other had a final O.D. ratio that made it basically impossible to utilize the 6th gear ?

Only 1 6speed ever offered. 93 was the only odd ball year the t56 was different and it had mn12 gearing instead of mn6. Mn6 came in ALL 94-02 F-Bodies. All 6spd cars also came with GU6 Gearing aka 3.42s again except 93 which would of had 3.23s. Mn12 is what came in 01-04 Z06s.

Did the LT1 internal gears/parts differ greatly from the later LS boxes?

no the 94-02 boxes use the same internals, you can actually convert an lt1 t56 to an ls1 by changing the front plate and bellhousing

There was one major change where the second gear was replaced with the viper gear for strength. In 00 or 01 I think.
