Out of curiosity, what fluid do you use?
It's good to have friends that will let you see how their set up drives The ripper is a good shifter and of course some of this is personal preference.

Yes I think the Pro 5.0 is a lot better on the 2-3 shift. The extra spring pressure that pulls to center makes a difference. If you move the 5.0 fr 2nd and forward the 5.0 it automatically hits 3rd.

One of my friends doesn't like the extra pull to center of the Pro 5.0 - he sometimes ends up starting in 3nd gear because he doesn't use much pressure to move the stick.

Some of the ham handed crowd that man handles a shifter with a wild man death grip and slam shifts could jam about any shifter into the wrong gear.

I'm the 99TA's Magnum I run Royal Purple Synchromesh. In the 91 RS's Hawk's Level 2 T56 is Mobile One synthetic.

BTW - bleeding the master cylinder ever so often seems to help with the stock set up as it ages

I didn’t see anyone mention Hinson...maybe I missed it. I have one on the way. Gotta be better than my stock shifter?

This...and maybe the Mcleod, that looks just like the Hinson, except cheaper...

I Love my Hinson. Was stiff at first but 2 months of parking in first and 6th cleared that right up. Centers perfectly every time. As smooth as butter. People call it notchy; their is a positive click/feel you could say and I have really come to like this as you know your gear is engaged. Very short throw and if you miss a gear with this shifter you should not be driving stick. Was worth every penny. Every Fbody I own will get this shifter.

Update on the Hinson...it’s amazing. Super positive engagement. Crisp shifts. Very well built, and worth every penny in my opinion.

My list of like, not in a Gen4 though:

4. Stock (ugh)
3. B&M (too tight and short. I found it hard to distinguish between 1/3 at lights)
2. Hurst with normal stick (not too short)
1. Pro 5.0 very well made and smooth

Note I have zero experience with the MGW.

Also a lot of this depends on what you like as well.

MGW! Amazing shifter, positive shifts and iv had mine for about 3 or 4 years, hasnt loosend up and became sloppy, still very firm shifts, also the centering spring is so strong i have never shifted back into first on my 2 to 3 shift, EVER. While the vehicle stopped and off u can try to go to 1st instead of 3rd but if u push straight up the spring guides it right into 3rd. Never had any issue with it and id recommend it for sure

I have a hinson its junk. Will not return to center. They promised to fix the issue but never did. Put my 10 year old Hurst on and it works fine
