Default engine built and now tranny wont go into gear..

hey guys so i built my engine finally and got everything plugged back up and bolted in and i go to drive it and the transmission wont go into gear! its a 95 z28 w a BW T-56. it will go into gear but you have to force it. and i cant even hardly find reverse. its a little easier to go into gear as im going down the road but still not close to how it should be.. any thoughts??

Shifts OK with motor off? If only hard to shift while running, probably the clutch is dragging.

"dragging" as in not fully disengaging. Symptoms: Is it easier to shift while driving and trying to rev match? While driving, does it push into neutral easily with light tension on the shifter at the moment you initially ease off the gas? Is it hard to get in gear with motor running but easier with motor off?

Also when in gear running at stop note how far up the pedal comes before car starts to move. If real low could be hydraulic issue. Master maybe. Did you bleed. If normal hieght then more then likely have to pull trans to look. I.e. clutch, pilot bearing. Any reason the input shaft keeps spinning. Proper alignment of trans. Pins.etc.

Thanks so much! The trans is out right now and everything looks pretty normal.. Only thing I saw was, the metal clips that hold the clutch fork tight on the pivot ball there's a little play there, idk if that would cause it.. Other than that I'm not sure any other ideas??
