Default Possible bent output shaft

I have been fighting some vibration issues for a while now. Today while I was changing u joints ( lots of miles) I noticed some odd marks on my driveshaft slip yoke. The mark on the yoke is where the yoke contacts the Tailshaft bushing, but it's not consistent. On one side of the yoke the contact marks are 1 inch in diameter but 180 degrees on the yoke the marks are about 3/4ths of an inch. I had a local shop replace the bushing months ago. The vibration has been the same before and after the bushing was replaced. After seeing the marks on the yoke Im thinking either my output shaft is slightly bent, or a bearing is bad. Any help is appreciated.

Oh the vibration comes on at 80ish mph.

Your 5/6 driven gear may be wearing down the splines it sits on. Unfortunately the main shaft is a couple thousands too thin here and it has caused high speed vibration for quite a few folks.

Just a possibility and more likely than a bent main shaft.

Although it may make sense that the wear pattern indicates a bent shaft, there is a logical explanation. TREMEC does not replace bushings in extensions, they offer only an assembly . That is because the bushing is machined after its installed....to insure it is centered. You had an aftermarket kit installed...it is likely off-center....explaining the wear pattern. I also believe ths vibe is more likely due to a 5/6 driven gear fit to the mainshaft.

Replacing the 5/6 is really quite easy. You only have to remove the tail housing. BUT it is very possible that your main shaft splines are worn past 70-80% left. Mine were about 40-50%. TDP(Texas Drivetrain Performance) has a built up mainshaft that fits the 5/6 driven quite snugly and eliminates the chance of it happening again.
