Default Clutch chatter, an unexpected solution.

I have a Ram 910 VDS with their aluminum flywheel in my C5 with 4.10 gears. Since installing it I've had mild chatter when driving around town. Its pretty hard to leave a stop slowly. I've been trying to adjust my driving style to it, but without much success.

On Sunday I started adding low-rpm timing, 0-1200 rpm. Tonight I worked with it a little more. I was trying to correct a condition where my car hunts for idle, but it had an unexpected side effect. It made it a lot easier leave a stop slowly at 1200rpm without chatter. Honestly, I cant believe the difference.

Just thought you guys with clutch chatter might want to try this.

Did you increase your idle speed, or just add timing?

I only added timing. My car has a T1 cam and idles at 850 rpm.

Well that's interesting. I have a T1 in my C5 too and I have chatter when taking off slowly. What did you change the timing to and in what ranges?

Probably 'cause the additional timing gave you more low end torque now. And the more torque you have, the less chatter also.
