Default Clutch Problem Help

on my way home today i was driving and stopped at a light. put in the clutch and dropped it into neutral. i let off the clutch and the pedal doesn't come all the way up. eventually it just pops up into place. as i push it in to get into gear and let off to start moving the clutch is still pushed down as if my foot is on it. i push it back down and it pops up. at the following light same thing. when i get home and look at it i noticed that when i push it and it comes up halfway that for some reason by itself the pedal will start going back down as if my foot was pushing it yet i am not touching it. i pull it up and give it a slight push and it stops but doesn't come up. yet again by itself it goes to the floor slowly. i am freaked out cause i never seen that happen before and i haven't driven the car hard all day.

Check the fluid? Is this a stock clutch, master & slave?

Well the rest is prolly not much better, the early hydraulic's up to '00 where problematic. Your prolly better off replacing the master & slave.
Might as well do the clutch while your at it.

From all my research, only the slave has been updated.
