Default Need to lube input shaft?

Just swapped an LS7 clutch into my CTS-V and I plan to put the tranny back in tomorrow. Do I need to grease the splines of the input shaft? They were bone dry so I wanted to check. What kind of grease?

I don't use anything . Dirt and clutch dust will stick to it and cause sticking .

I used a small amount of lithium grease and wiped most of it off with a rag.

I recommend not using anything as it can get on the disc and cause it to slip.

Good, this was my train of thought as well. Just seems weird to leave a mechanical component dry
