Hello

I found a t56 for sale here locally and I want to pick it up for my 280z ls1 project. The trans is being sold for 300 and it came out of a 2001 mustang bullitt.
I was wondering if someone could give me a real rough estimate as to how much it might cost to have the trans rebuilt( supposed 3rd gear synchro issue). I was thinking about 700-800.
That would bring me to about the price it would be for a working t56.

Id also like to know if rebuilding a t56 is something that someone with the right tools but no experenice can do. or should it be left to the pros??

A 2001 Mustang Bullitt has a TR3650 in it.

 

Plus rebuilding can get expensive pretty quick. I was blown away with what was wrong inside my t56 and it worked perfectly besides having some bearing noise when the trans warmed up.
