Post Can someone answer this for me?

Do i need to upgrade the master cylinder? what does it do and what makes the tick master cylinder so good? I was planning on doing a Monster 11" stage 2 or 3 clutch for a DD with 450hp, but i see everyone replacing the master cylinder, and now im curious if i should do the same thing?

Some guys will probably be able to explain it better but in short the stock gm master cylinder sucks for anything other than grandma driving the car. Forget WOT power shifting, the tick master cylinder has an opened up primary and I believe a few other goodies, look them up and you an read all about why the tick MC is the sought after master cylinder for these cars.

Thanks guys. Im unfamiliar with manual cars as this is my first one, and im unsure of what it does and how it works. ill have to do some more research, but ill definitely get the Tick MC and everyone also says to get the speedbleeder so ill probably grab one of them too.

I don't think you will need the 11" clutch for your goals..The stage 2 12" should do just fine...

Love the MGW. Best mod money can buy for a six speed. The 11" is basically a full race clutch. Don't think it will be something that you would want to drive on.There are hundreds of people using the stage 2 with great results. I'm no clutch expert but the stage 2 should work. I have one laying in the living room floor waiting to get installed. Email Steve at SNL on here. He can point you in the right direction..

It was either that or the Pro 5.0 with a short stick, but ive been hearing good reviews with the MGW and the stick is already short. Well i was planning on calling monster when i was ready to order and tell them my build and specs and ask which one i should get. On their site it shows no difference between the two. So i figured if i called and talked to someone they'd let me know the difference.

The GM CMC(Clutch Master Cylinder) does not disengage all of the way most of the time. If you want to test it, put your car in first, push in the clutch all the way and rev to 5000-5500RPM on flat level ground. If the car begins to move that means your clutch is still partially engaged and slipping which causes wear. The GM CMC basically cause wear to the clutch. My former friend had a brand new Monster stage 2 in his 01 SS pushing 450+RWHP and he wore out the clutch just from street driving in less than 2 months because he still had the GM CMC. Monster sent him a new clutch and he replaced the CMC for a Tick Performance CMC and had no problems from then on. It's well worth the money not only because it fixes that problem but also because it is more effective, smoother, and adjustable.

The tick master uses a bigger bore cylinder thus pushing more fluid down to the slave cylinder through their virtually none restrictive line. More fluid in the slave prevents the fluid from the common boiling theory. This will allow for higher rpm shifts and will eliminate the clutch pedal sinking to the floor when running the car hard.
