99 SS with factory hurst shift knob what's it mean??

Default 99 SS with factory hurst shift **** what's it mean??

I purchased my 99 SS from the original owner .
He said it had the hurst shift **** when he baught it new....
Is it just a **** or is their something else inside???

It has a hurst shifter from the factory

The hurst shifter was an option. The whole shifter is diffrent than a regular one.My 02 formula NHRA special edition car came factory with it also. I like it. Do a search. Ihave seen pics here on the forum somewhere showing what a normal shifter looks like and what the hurst looks like.

mine came with a Hurst from the factory, didnt like it, to sloppy. i have a pro 5.0 now and love it. i am a fan of knowing when i am in gear (slightly notchy)

A stock hurst with a short stick is a good setup. except it has no stops on it. A shifter with stops can save you from breaking shift forks

This is simply not true. Breaking forks comes from clash-shifting....stops will not address this.
The guideplate limits how far the fork can shift much more effectively than a stop.
Stops when adjusted properly will do nothing. When mis adjusted, they can cause jump out of gear and fork damage...yup breakage.

Look at the RPO codes on the drivers door sticker.

The code BBS means it came from factory with the Hurst Shifter.
