Default huge problem!

okay so I go to leave a red light and I spin the the tires run it up to about 4k and wait for it to drop back down before putting it in another gear. I park of then come back to it a few hours later and when I ease out in the clutch it acts like something is knocking around. I'm not sure what this means but I know its not the best thing in the world. has anybody ever run into this or had some kind close comparison to this?

alright so I'm definitely thinking that I may have slung the clutch apart. its making a pretty strange sound that I've never heard before. I'm pretty sure that its coming from either the clutch or the throwout bearing. so I'm think about pulling the transmission out and replacing the clutch the master cylinder as well as the slave cylinder/ throwout bearing. any suggestions?
