Default Master cylinder question

Help me out guys, I am on the verge of ordering a new clutch and was going to order a new slave as well since I have a 2000, however the vendor just stocks a hydraulic upgrade kit which includes the master and slave. I had been told in the past that only the slave had been changed and that there was not an issue with the 2000 master. However when I looked it up on the GM Parts Direct catalog, sure enough, the master for the 01's and 02's is different than the 2000. What the hell did they change, and is it critical enough to warrant changing it. Honestly, if I do need to change it, I would consider spending an extra $100.00 and going with the McLeod master, but one of the advantages of going with the Spec was that supposedly that is not needed. Do any of you know what GM changed other than the part#?

Im not sure what was changed but, you might want to consider having an adjustable master.
Be it stock modified a McLeod or other that is a nice feature to have.
I've had good luck w/ my Mcleod.........

anyone else have any ideas??? I was considering making my stock one adjustable, but that would be cheap compared to the $260.00 the vendor wants for the "hydraulic upgrade kit". I need to find out if this kit includes anything other than the master and slave kit. Buying those two items from GM Parts Dirct would only cost $170.00 + shipping.

The 02 master cylinder part# is 12565144, and they only have one slave cylinder listed and that # is 12565145. These are the numbers I got from the GM Parts Direct online catalog, they are different than what SDPC shows for some reason.

I just spoke with Paul at Spec Clutches (205) 491-8581; he said these part numbers are necessary for their clutches:

15046288 slave
12570277 master
