Default Harlan Shift Light, Who Sells Them Now??

I tried to order on from Frost, but they are out of stock. Harlan's site is down and says it will be updated January 2012

Does anyone still sell the Harlan Shift lights? I really don't want to spend 2-3x as much on a Raptor shift light but I will if I can no longer get the Harlan

Nobody uses a shift light? Or is the Raptor the one that most guys use now?

I need/use that de-mister port that everyone puts the Harlans/Raptors in, so I just went with a full size Auto Meter mounted with their bracket onto the a pillar cover.

I was hoping to get a Harlan/Raptor so I can install the shift light in the cluster between the tach and the speedo like studderin did on his car. I just don't want to spend $110 on a Raptor if I can still get a Harlan for $55 especially if I may ruin it in the process

Did Frost give you an ETA on the lights? I was wanting one in red myself. I still don't see how folks run a green or yellow light and keep their night vision...

I emailed Frost and just got an automated email about tunes back from him.

I kind of want to get a green light for my car, but I am worried about hurting my vision at night, but then again I don't really beat on my car at night (mostly because the lights are so terrible)

I just bought a light directly from Harlan a few weeks ago. Just email him directly at turbohawk80@yahoo.com

That's actually GOOD to hear. I was worried about it being a bit dim. I want red b/c red light doesn't affect night vision. At all

If you put it in the A/C vent(where mine is) and if you feel that it is too dim you could always move it to the defrost vent in the A-pillar and you should be okay.

I can't get the pictures to copy from Google, but you can do a google search "Harlan shift light activated" and go to "images" and there are some images of the shift light activated to see if the other colors would be more your style.

I'm wanting to do this, but through the rear view mirror, like the modern mirrors do for the compass or air temps. I've done a search on other forums, I think it can be done. I'm also going to put my other guages in the rear mirror. The shift lift doesn't have to be there, but the othrr gauges I would prefer since my eye is already trained to look there. I really don't want to place it in another location for my eye to look and keep my eyes off the road at high speed. A/F and Nitrous Pressure Digital gauges will likely go there - I don't like the A-pillar look and it adds a 3rd point to look at.

You really don't have to look at it in a dedicated manner. Trust me, you won't overlook it (it is bright). It is just in your field of vision. When the bright red led's turn on, you have two choices.

I'm going to install mine like Studderin did, I just didn't know if I could still get one.

This is how they should be done IMO

That's exactly how's I'd like to do mine, but just one single LED. I think 6 is overkill, LOL. I wish I was better with wiring...

Harlan shift light is not dim at all. Guy in the next car I was running one night said "Boy you don't shift until that thing is RED!" talking about my shift light. I'd do all 6...it isn't going to blind you. The only wiring you have to do is hooking it up to the ECU, (in my case fuse box), and ground. I am horrible at anything wiring related (car wise) and I got it done...albeit it took me 5x as long as a normal person.

I ended up getting a used Raptor shift light for $50, only problem I have is that it's green, but I'll deal with it.

I'm going to mount the tube with the settings dials in my glove box next to the MSD 6AL-2. That way I can make shift light & 2 step settings from inside the car rather than having to take my hood off or pop the shift light out of the AC vent

I used to have a raptor which i really liked and very easy to install. They are bright, anywhere in the front of the car will catch your attention without even looking for it. I went ahead and just ordered a Harlan because they both appear to be similar but the harlan is half the price.

I hear that. I wouldn't have bought the Raptor if I hadn't got such a good deal. I do like the dip switch on the Raptor better form what I have seen though.
