T56 rebuild?

Default T56 rebuild?

I recently got a t56 tranny that has been built supposedly, but the input shaft has some play in it so i know ill need a input shaft bearing. What i need to know if how can i tell if theres anything else that need changing just by looks or feel?

inspect all the gears for chips/cracks/signs of wear. inspect synchro assemblies - especially the keys and blocking rings- for any signs of damage/wear. IMO, if you are going to start replacing bearings you should replace them all along with all new snap rings. If you are doing it yourself you will also need a bearing shim kit and a press (or something to use as a press). Oh, also inspect the main shaft for wear on the teeth.

thanks alot im still weighing the option of doing it myself, dont know for sure i just was wondering what parts for sure i would need to replace

Well im going to attempt it i ordered a input shaft bearing and am going from there hopefully wont be too bad
