Question Flywheel-Pressure Plate Bolts Shoulder vs All Threaded Can Someone Explain

Buying parts to put a LS1 in a 69 Camaro. Just got my clutch and PP from American Powertrain. I also bought a new RAM 1550 Billet Steel flywheel from another source. Which holes in the flywheel and pressure plate do I use to line it up? What is the purpose of the shoulder bolts that I keep reading about? I got the LS1 ARP PP bolts but they are threaded all the way. Do I need shoulder ones instead? I'm confused so can someone explain.

Thanks

From my experience shouldered bolts are better for location.

But as you say, i've used fully threaded flywheel bolts before, both as standard & aftermarket.

I know that doesn't really solve your question! But i'm sure someone else will chime in...

In general, if the flywheel has no indexing dowels, use shouldered bolts that properly match the size of the holes in the pressure plate.
