Question Synthetic ATF in 00' Camaro

I am hearing stories about Mobil 1 atf, hurting the blocker rings on 2000 and earlier T56's. Is this true?, If so, why does the synthetic hurt it?. ? I have been running it in my 2000 Camaro SS for 20k, and I havn't had any problems, aside from the Spec stage 3 clutch grenading on me.

Does anyone use the BG products?, Will it help to add the MGC to my tranny?

superchargedls1- You'll want to take a careful read through this thread here: Ending the speculation: Blocker rings, who's had them fail?

Interesting that you have one of the 98-00 T-56's running Mobil-1 ATF (a fully synthetic ATF) for 20,000 miles and you have no problems....from the synthetic is bad for 98-00 T-56's crowd, you'd think your blocker rings would have been toast by now...

Just for a point of reference, how many miles did your 00 have on it before you went with the Mobil-1?

I had 5000 on the tranny before I put in the synthetic, when I fried the stock clutch, I intalled the Supercharger at 1000mi.

superchargedls1- Thanks for replying back with that info! At least when others do a search on this topic, they'll have some meaningfull data to use.

Thanks again!
