Best way to pull a T56
I've searched, but found everything BUT!!!
I want to pull the T56 out of my 2001, but I don't want to pull the motor. What's the best way of going about this?
Also the guy buying the T56 does not want the bell housing or clutch so I was wondering if instead of fighting with the bell housing bolts, can I remove the trans from the bell, while it's still on the car? I was thinking that it would be easier to unbold the case from the bell, rather than the bell from the block, but I doubt it... sounds more like a stupid question than a legit one, but I wasn't sure.
Is there a write up for this?
Thanks guys!!!

Pull center console, pull shifter, drop driveshaft and exhaust , lower trans crossmember to get to top bolts of trans, unplug electrical connections, unbolt and pull out. Did mine my first time by myself in my garage on the floor. Was not difficult at all. First time I pulled a trans by myself. There is a video on YouTube that helped me a lot. Search t56 removal. Easiest to unbolt the trans from the bellhousing. Trans weighs about 100 lbs. Maybe a little more. Oh yea drain the fluid too. Makes it a bit lighter

GREAT video! like 92v, I watched all 3.
One question.... why did he remove the slave before pulling the trans from the bell? Why not just disconnect the lines from the slave and allow the slave to stay put?
And as for the top bolts on the case, do you really need a 3 foot extension? What if you have a buddy with small hands, lol...?
Thanks for the info & vid Bro!!!

Yea because you need room to turn, I did mine from inside the car through the shifter hole. Worked out pretty good with a friend underneath helping hold the socket on the bolts. Any other questions feel free to PM me and with the slave I honestly don't remember.... I think its if you don't want to undo the hydraulics, but you can undo the line if you get it free.
