I just had a Spec Stage 2 clutch put in my car along with h/c etc. The car is making 409wrhp and 390wrtq. I was told that the Stage 2 clutch could handle up to 480fptq. I have about 1000 miles on the clutch and I went to the track tonight. ON the third pass the clutch started slipping in 2nd and 3rd gear. Then I became extremly hard to put the car in 4th gear. Is this clutch toast already? On the way home from the track the car wanted to jump out of 4th gear all by it self. You can just pull the car out of gear with VERY LITTLE effort with out pushing the clutch when it's in 4th gear. Have anybody ever experienced this? What do you think the problem is. By the way I put 500 driving miles on the car before I started beating on it. Any advise would be helpful. If you think I should get another clutch which one do you recommend?

With your power level you should have gotten at least the stage 3. I would recommend a RAM VDS 910/402 clutch instead. The RAM VDS comes with everything you need, including flywheel and hydraulics. You may have a bent shift fork causing the popping out of gear.

I agree about the clutch - it's toast, and you should go with at least a Spec 3 (my preference is ceramic if you're hitting the track). I run a Ram VDS/910, and it's a badass setup, takes extreme abuse (
), but it's more expensive than the Spec 3. Spec 3 is a decent budget clutch.
As for the 4th gear thing, sounds like you've either:
-bent the shift fork
-trashed the fork pads
-broken the slider keys
Unfortunately, that means a trany rebuild. It's definitely the type of rebuild a do-it-yourselfer can tackle, if you can afford to have the car down for a week or two (you have to take the trans apart to find out what parts you need - then ya gotta order parts, put it back together, etc).
Good luck!

I think they outta have this link put into everyone's T56 question, just so people are informed. Here's the T56 manual and yes, like Camaroholic said, it's a do it yourself deal, unless there's major broken parts, you can get your pieces from TheGearBox on Ebay, he's got an Ebay store you can order from.
