Default Is it the master cylinder?

Symptoms:
Soft clutch, missed shifts at high RPMs (embarrassing), rough shifting. The one different symptom I'm seeing is that the friction point is when the pedal is further out (less than 1'' from all the way out). Most people say that theirs is when the pedal is barely away from the floor. Clutch pedal does not stick to the floor, at least so far. Just started acting up last week.

Ideas? Also thinking about going with the tick. Anything compare for cheaper?

Have you bled the system and put in fresh fluid? First step is bleeding the system good. If that doesn't work it could be the master or slave. To test the master you can disconnect the hydraulic line from the slave. A normal master should have a stiff pedal that is pretty much rock hard when disconnected from the slave. Rest your foot on the pedal and give some slight pressure on the pedal for a minute. If it slowly starts sinking to the floor your master could have a leak, even internally so it doesn't necessarily have to be bleeding fluid everywhere.
