irritating clutch problem

Default irritating clutch problem

My t56 has an issue that when I run the car hard at the track I can go through first and second fine and sometimes third but the petal doesn't want to come back up for forth. Only started having this issue when I got long tubes, intake and a tune.

Stock clutch? Have you tried bleeding it?

are your "long tubes' now in close proximity to your slave?

if so might want to put some heat wrap on the slave....if we are talking LT1car

Should have said that I already bled the clutch and its still stock. And that its an 02 z28.

almost everyone with an M6 car has the same issue...the stock LS6 clutch doesn't seem to hold up to track abuse or more than stock power, apparently due to the self-adjusting pressure plate...a lot of us are going through the same issue as you...tried the drill mod (did nothing), then went Tick adj master cyl (this helped a lot, but issue isn't completely gone)...I'm now going with a Monster level 2 single disc clutch setup with a new slave, because the sticky pedal is still present after running through 1st-4th, and my stocker was slipping on the dyno @ high rpm...

You can try these things one at a time, but if you wanna do everything in one shot (like I should have done), Tick performance sells a package which includes a monster single disc clutch kit & flywheel, Tick adjustable master cyl, remote speed bleeder & new GM slave cylinder...everything you need to eliminate the issue

I was told that I needed a tick master but I'm not even too far from stock

Having a weak or leaking slave or master can certainly cause this. Bleeding can help but if you are bypassing fluid then the issue will return. A worn out SAC-type plate can also pose some similar issues if the adjusters are no longer maintaining position. The down side to this is that you can't really assess the pressure-plate without pulling the trans. You can replace the slave and master of course and this is a good start.
