Slave cylinder maybe?? Was at a stop light yesterday and my car died. Took it out of gear restarted and then it wouldn't go into gear. Turned car off and started with it in gear and it was like the clutch was somewhat engaged (bad slave problem) and pulled to a side street. When I checked the fluid it was very dark in color but was still full. Could the slave cylinder e leaking by internally and not lose fluid?
The slave or master could be leaking internally. To test if it's the master you can disconnect it from the slave. At this point the pedal should be rock hard and not be able to be depressed. Put your foot on the clutch pedal and give some pressure for a min or two. If the pedal starts sinking it could indicate a problem with the master. If it doesn't I'd move on to the slave.
Either way before any of that you sould bleed your clutch fluid really good and see what happens, then go from there.
