Default Help t56 was rebuilt 5th not going in sometimes

Hey guys ok last year I had my t56 transmission rebuilt by Texas drivetrain performance outside fort worth and they upgraded it with what I was wanting it to hold and lately ONLY 5th isn't cooperating with me sometimes.
I have to slam it in to catch when it acts up but I haven't been driving it like this daily its my weekend car.. I've shifted from 3rd and same thing seems like its not just going in. It does not pop out just grinds if I shift it and doesn't catch. Car is a 2000 trans am 480whp help me what can I do to fix it? I really hope I don't have to rebuild my transmission again

Pull it. If it's just fork pads, you could get to it before it junks more parts.

Thanks for the reply I was afraid of that is there any way possible that something could be adjusted in the shifter to help it?

Nope, nothing to adjust with the shifter. As long as its bolted on, that's pretty much it. The shift gate is built into the transmission, not the shifter, so basically its the transmission that decides where the shifter wants to be and where each gear is.

Gotcha this is horrible :/ but its my racecar only has 9k on that transmission too.. recommendations? I'm on a budget atm but I can pull the transmission and send it off to somewhere or could I replace the pads myself?

Seems like if it were related to the pads/fork it would give you problems in 5 and 6.
