My MWG was so stiff It caused me to miss 5th and 6th a couple times...it wanted to pop over to 3rd or 4th. Just got to push a bit harder than your used to at first, I ended up cutting mine at the notch also. Feels even better after that.

 

Mgw stick is already short as heck. I don't see how or why you would want it shorter. Lol

Great shifter though. Havnt missed any gears yet on my car.

 

mine never loosened up at all. still, best shifter hands down or up and six ways from sunday. a friend of mine machined his own "longer stick" swears its more "daily comfortable" to drive

 

I had to machine mine down and cut new threads. I ordered it with the wrong thread pattern. I ain't gotten to drive it much but I'm liking it so far. It is quite stiff but nothing in manageable.
