MGW Shifter... Longer Shaft Available?
Love the throws on this shifter, but it is a lot for daily driving. Is there a longer shaft available to put in? or is there a screw to adjust the centering springs?

I just got my MGW in but not installed yet. Is it just extremely stiff and the longer shaft would give you more leverage? I've heard they need a few shifts on em to soften up, how long have you been rowing gears in yours?

It's an awesome shifter I love it and am fine with how stiff it is. It's only been 2 days rowing gears.. Maybe I just need to wait a little while lol.

Well that makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one thinking it's really stiff as of now.
I definitely feel more confident about my shifts when getting on it compared to the stock hurst.

Me and my buddy who owns a 13/5.0 stang have 6 yr old girls and the girls argued over what movie to see. My daughter looked up and said "Daddy just race the cars, winner picks."(I love that girl!) Well I missed 3rd and let my baby down. Ordered an MGW as we walked out of the movies.
Btw race #2 I didn't miss and owned some mustang.

I agree! I came from the stock Hurst as well, and it was a BIG difference! Give it some time, and it will feel better. Plus you start to get used to the different characteristics of the shifter itself, and you will then be better and quicker on those shifts as well

Yeah I agree, IMO the stock hurst shifter wasn't bad, but now that the mgw is starting to break in I'm really loving it

Launching!
I added an extension on to the original MGW stick from TWM (Delrin)...not only was it an inferior product but once i added the extension, i did have more leverage but missed a shift in a race. the reason for the extension wasn't for leverage...it was to keep my hand closer to the steering wheel...turns out it was in my head.
don't do it.
