Forth gen F-bodies were only made for 4 years. The S197 was made for 9 years. Makes perfect sense.

Talked to a tremec rep at world of the wheels show in boston. He said there is a Magnum F coming out being f body specific. He said very soon and seemed very confident about it. Talked to him and Mike Forte from Fortes Parts Connection, very cools guys. Bought a tko600 1st gen bolt in kit from fortes and gave us a grand tour of the whole place, great guy to buy from.

Strange that Rob Sheppard from Tremec told me only a few weeks ago when I emailed that it would be unlikely for the F Magnum anytime soon as the project had been put on hold.

He could have been blowing smoke or had old info, we will be the last to know i guess. Hopefully i wont need one anytime soon but it would be nice to have the option soon.

The 2 or 3 times I emailed he basically just directed me to Rockland Standard Gear for their offerings.

But the last time which was only in Feb, so a few weeks ago he told me the Magnum F was on hold.

Does seem odd, even more so as T56 parts are getting harder to come by. The F Body fitment surely has to be a reasonably large market ?

whats the difference between the d&d performance t56 f body as opposed to the tick version. Looks like both use bronze fork pads but tick changes to carbon blocker rings and they also say miscellaneous parts are changed.....anyone know?

Are you referring to a normal T56 rebuild, or a Magnum conversion ?

magnum conversion. seems like tick and d&d both have one thats a straight bolt into the f body but tick is 500 more and is rated 200 ft lbs greater in torque. I don't think I will ever get close to 700hp or 900hp but I generally like tick's service.

Which 1st gear are you guys ordering? Just curious which seems like a better way to go. I already have 4.10s in my car so maybe stick to the 2.66 first gear?
