Exclamation t56 input shaft replacement?

The input shaft bearing on my ls1 t56 grenaded and took out the teeth on the input shaft gear. So i've been trying to find one to replace it and keep finding that everyone has it on backorder.

I've checked ddperformance, tickperformance, hawksthirdgen, gearbox, and cm gearworks (sent me the last one and came with a broken tooth) and even Tremec itself has it backordered.

So my question is, does anyone know of anywhere else I could find the stock input shaft? (26 spline, 31 tooth)

I recommend standard transmission. just got everything to rebuild my LT1/T56 from them, they were the only ones I could find that had the 1-2 synchro assy that everyone else had back ordered. they also had better prices. best of luck to you.

Does anyone know if using the 97-07 corvette input shaft is an option instead? Or is it a different length/thickness?

The Corvette, GTO, CTS-V and SSR and some Holden use GM only triple-double synchronizers, anything else is double/single. So the synchronizer teeth section of the input is quite different. the gear is the same.

Have you checked the GM parts network?

Have you looked into a machined Viper input?
