Default Input shaft seal

I may have to replace an input shaft seal on my t56. Im new to the t56 so what does this meen? also how much would it be to replace and do you have to pull out the trans to do this?

The part is cheap. The trans has to come out and be taken apart. You can do it yourself. Only the front plate has to come off so it's not like a complete rebuild.

how much do you think for a shop to do it? the trans is already out of the car.

Where are you in MD? I could show you how to replace it for nothing. An honest shop should be able to replace one for under $100, but then again most shops don't have the know how to open up a trans and put it back together correctly..

If the trans is already out it's super easy. I'd take Mike up on that if you can. 8 front plate bolts, rtv and the seal is about it.
