I was under the impression that monster clutches did not need shims. I know of reputable shops saying all clutches need to be measured for shims, but my monster clutch instructions and the monster tech line specifically said no shims are needed with their clutches.

I could be right or I could be wrong, but usually the last thing you messed with should always be the first suspect. You changed the clutch, pulled the trans to do it, and probably messed with the flywheel, so I have 3 things you might want to check. Make sure the clutch alignment is good, the alignment of the bell housing, and the pilot bushing. There are other things too, but they seem less likely based on your statement that using the other clutch it shifted like butter. I hope that helps you out

Thanks! Also too when i would put it in first clutch to the floor and would rev up the car would slightly roll. Its not disengaging and I think that's where my trouble it. That's why I wasn't sure if the stock tob could Handel the stage 3 lol

Yes, the discard thickness is .285", .260" is too thin.

SNLPERFORMANCE made the very clutch you're using, so if he says to discard it I would listen. I would recommend putting a stage 2 or stage 3 clutch from Monster back in there. From everything I've read they make a very solid product. When I do my LS1/t56 swap I plan on using one, so don't let a jerk who sold you a used one they ruined turn you away from a great product. I sincerely hope that helps you out, and I'm sorry a jerk boned you on a used clutch...

The guy was pretty honest up front. I have 175 for the flywheel disc and pressure plate. I was being a tight *** so I can't bitch to much. I got it all back together with a tick slave and a center force clutch my buddy had in his set up. His **** is broke so I stole it just to see if it fixes it. I have heard many good things about monster tho. And Steve from SNL performance I don't know who u are but I appreciate everything u have done. I will def go through u on all my future purchases!

Well guys I don't know what to do now. Switched clutches and slaves and my car still does the same things. I bled it multiple times. When in first and clutch to the floor when u rev up past about 4500rpms the car starts to roll. And I could actually smell clutch when I did it. Its a bitch to get into reverse,2-3-4 grind when trying to shift at high Rpms. Will not go into second on a downshift until u make the motion to first gear and then come back into second. When crushing it shifts fine through all the gears but still won't downshift into second. Any ideas guys.I'm starting to get burnt out lol
