I am looking at a 71 Camaro for a LS swap. I would like to make this a manual transmission project. This camaro does not have a motor, but it does have the T400. All of the interior is removed and there is a hole in the floor pan where the auto gear shifter would have been.

If I were to purchase this 71 camaro would I just be able to drop the T400 and then put in the t56 or another manual trans? Or should I just find another project car that was already a manual trans?

With a lil work it should be hard at all.

 

all fbodys came with the provisions to be a manual even in 71. Just find the instructions to put a t56 in your car and follow that. obviously the floor will need to be cut put the process really isnt hard
