Default Lt1 T-56 to Ls1

I've done some research on converting an Lt1 style T56 to and LS1. Im thinking about swapping a T-56 into my f body. From what I understand in order to convert the t56 you have to change the input shaft and front cover. Also have to have a different bell housing. With the conversion will this still allow you to run a stock length draft shaft and a ls1 style clutch.

Correct, you will need a LS1 bell housing, LS1 T56 input shaft and matching mid plate. Other than that, everything else will work exactly as it did with Lt1 stuff.
