clutch goes out when trans gets hot

clutch goes out when trans gets hot ok so i raced my buddies 99 z28 ttop m6 with my vert today i smoked him off the line and i had about 3-4 carlinks between us and went to shift to 3rd gear and i had noclutch at all i got the car to just barly get into 3rd and 4th and lost by a car link my clutch was completely out so i drove home with little to no clutch and as i was going slow the trans cooled and i regained my clutch fully whats happening?

How many miles do you have on it? Whats your setup?
