Major MGW shifter install problem So the install went smoothly, only problem is I just read you aren't supposed to put the permatex sealant in the bolt holes, and I did. Am I screwed on this? i really need feedback asap because it said this can damage the transmission.
you will be fine if I am not mistakin the bolt holes don't connect with the transmission fluid I could be wrong though its been a while since ive been in there. also unless you used a crazy amount it shouldn't of ran down the holes to much

I ended uo takung the bolts out and saw it doesn't even have any other openings where potential sealant could leak out. I did wipe some of it off the bolts anyway.
The issue with blind bolt holes is that excess sealant, oil or anything incompressible in the bolt hole will cause the case to crack when the bolt is tightened. You're probably ok just keep this in mind.

check your bolt holes for eccess sealant. dig it all out of the blind holes to be safe.had a guy rebuild mine ,let his son do the last little bit i.e. the shifter install . sealant in holes blew out the case along with other problems. it's called hydrolicking in old man talk . when extra sealant,oil,water,etc is left in the hole and you compress it with the bolt,then kablewy!
