Default T56 to old school 2 pb rms engine

Just asking opinions on which way to mate these two together.

I have a Lt1 t56 and a 2 pc rms sbc already. (Yes I know this is a LS forum. No I'm not going to put a LS motor in this one)

1. Lt1 t56 and use a aftermarket flywheel with the lt1 pull style clutch.

2. LS t56 input shaft + the McLeod adapter plate and use a normal old style bellhousing, flywheel, and clutch. (I also have a 3rd gen Camaro t5 bellhousing I could use to retain the external hydro slave cylinder)

The reason I'm asking this is I really don't like the lt1 pull style clutch, but I've heard so many horror stories about the LS style internal hydro throwout bearing, (I can't think of it's proper name right now), I'd like to get away from both setups.

I run the LS T56 and adapter plate behind a 2pc main sbc in my truck. Running the sbc clutch/bell/fork/linkage and it works like a champ. Did mine this way because the lt1 pull style clutches suck, and there's not many to choose from.

I think I'll go the LS input shaft/adapter plate route. It'll cost me a little more initially, but in the long run I think it will be a better setup. I need to stay with a hydro clutch because it's in a 98 S10. Anybody know it a lt1 slave cylinder us the same as a 3rd gen t5 slave?

What power level? Are you dedicated to a 153 or 168 fly wheel?

LOL. Not much by todays standards... It's just a daily driver. It has a tpi 305 with a stock LT1 cam in it now, but I'm planning on putting my "old" 350 in it this fall/winter. (10-10.5:1, .030, 268XE Comp Cam, Trick flow twisted wedge aluminum heads, RPM Air gap intake, 3310 750 vac Holley)

Flywheel? Not really dedicated to either size I guess. I have a few 168's, but I think the T5 bellhousing will only accept a 153?
