T56 Problems
T56 Problems I had a "friend" of mine go through my 2001 T56. He replaced the input shaft replaced some bearings and shims along with some synchros and set the endplay. The same time I also replaced the stock shifter with a MGW shifter. The problems I'm having is normal driving 1st thro 3rd shifting is normal but 4th gear I don't get a positive engagement but when I let the clutch out it is in gear.
Second problem, once in fourth gear, next gear change 4th gear takes some effort to get out of. The only other gear that is messed up is 6th, engagement is good but it is super easy to get out of gear.
Third and final problem, 1st-4th WOT 2nd gear and 4th gear around 4k rpm the shifter will slightly move forward but not come out of gear.
Any transmission gurus know what might be happening? I spoke a little with TICK through email and they don't seem to think the above is a problem. Just would like to get yours guy's thoughts....

Was the aluminum 3/4 fork changed? This part is known to wallow at the rail hole and cause sticking in gear( 3rd& 4th).
If this is already an iron fork., the endplay was incorrectly set( too much). Is an aftermarket bell is used? Was it properly dialed in? : a mis aligned bell can affect 4th gear engagement as well as carnage to the pocket bearing.

Verdad Gallardo Well I didn't want to be that guy who does not post when he resolves a problem. This is a shout out to Jeremy and the guys at RPM Transmission. The quality of work done is outstanding and all my problems have been solved. Great guys to deal with! Problem ended up being the shifter/shifter bushing.
