Clutch help please
Clutch help please Ive read and read on here about slave and masters and I finally decided since the master was cheap enough and easy enough to do id start there. So I installed it got everything back together hooked up the mityvac and sucked bubbles after bubbles after bubbles I dont think i ever got all the bubbles completely out i mean i did this for an hour and it was still looking like the first time still. So this leads me to maybe its my slave cylinder. I have enough pedal to start the car but I cant get the car into any gear. I push the clutch is goes down super easy kinda spongy and never really pops back up. It goes slow up. Ive just been avoiding this cause i didnt feel like dropping the trans. I cant see any leaks anywhere. I need help guys this car is suppose to be in paint in a few days.
Was the low, spongy pedal the reason you swapped the master out? Is it better, worse, or the same with the new master?
If it's no different, I'd guess slave. If its worse now than before, it's possible the quick connect is not sealing up.
Another possibility is the pressure plate springs may not be up to snuff anymore, which is what actually provides the hydraulic return force that ultimately raises the pedal back to height.
