T56 Help, Water in Fluid
Recently picked up a F-body T56, Externally looked good input shaft tight no play turns smooth, shifted in and out of gears, had output yoke on it... couple of weeks go by and get some time to get into it figure I'll drain the fluid to start, well it looks like red chocolate milk, Crap got water in it, F#@! that means rust. So completely tore it down everything looks good very light surface rust was able to remove it with emery cloth, just dark stain on steel parts here and there. The frictions, blockers rings all look good.
Question is what effect will water in the fluid on the friction material.

As Bowtie has pointed out, the friction elements are a concern. If there are the organic-paper lined parts in you box, replace them. If the oil was like a pink shake, it was operated with the water in it ( churned/ mixed rather than a top/ bottom layer of wather). You can tell the carbon VS paper rings by color : Black VS tan/ brown. I would replace them all any way. Take a very good look at all the bearings, both needles AND rollers.
