Default Do I need a tranny fluid pump?

I have a new tr6060 level 5 from rpm trans. Just wondering if I really need the trans pump jnstalled. I'll be at about 800rwhp. I already had them instill the sprayer I just need to install the pump and lines.

I would. At 800hp you will be pulling the nose pretty hard at the track. Will you actually really need one? Probably not but it cant hurt and will be safer

Need ? no

Is it a good thing ? yes

I've run T56's for years in mine at well over 700, and never broke anything yet, and a Magnum is a lot stronger than those.

The time it will suffer most is under very hard launches where all oil moves rearwards. So if you intend lots of very hard launches, then fit a pump.

If not, then whilst it would be a good thing, it certainly isnt essential.

Cheapest "fix" without a pump, simply run more oil in the trans to start with, on the T56 adding another 0.5 litre or so was quite common

Absolutely need it! I cooked my input shaft gear after 1 track day on my new magnum after taking the advice of an "experienced" t56 "guy" Don't risk it... if it's not too late already (old post)
