Default Bent shift fork?

Well today I determined that I am definately having issues with the transmission.

I went to the track last friday night and saturday. On saturday I had issues after a run to get the trans out of 4th gear.At the time I thought that maybe it was the clutch, after a serious beating it might not like spinning so hard.

Today I took the car out and about on the street and found that the problem is there and is there every time I try to get the car out of 4th.

I think that it might have happened on friday night when I snapped a bolt of my lous shorty on a 2 to 3 shift.

Any ideas?

I just got the trans rebuilt over the winter, with the viper steel shift fork and all new internals.

thanks,

Roman

yup, my tranny in the shop now, if its stuck in 4th, which is what happened to me, the slider keys in the 3-4slider gear pop out and wont let you push it back into neutral. you basically overshifted the gear which is a good reason to buy an aftermarkey shifter with built in stops, i just bought the pro 5.0 with lous short stick, cant wait to try it out. mine also popped outa 3rd gear, so i bought a steel shift fork also.

Sudz is right. Classic symptoms of the slider keys popping out. Once they pop out, and then you force it back in to neutral, a lot of times they break... sometimes, they only 'lightly' break - so part of the key can stay in the slider assembly, yet it will pop out every time you go to the opposing side of the slider (if that makes sense I've seen it inside a tranny).

I know there are a few places that make billet slider keys, but I've never been able to get my hands on a set. With a pro-shifted transmission, though, you don't use those keys at all. They are gone.

I already use the pro 5.0 and lous short stick, with a steel shift fork. I set the stops, but?????

I must be a little rough on it.

After having this problem 2 times now. I might have to look into different avenues.
