Default What short shifter with leverage?

I've had a mgw for a while now and I've never felt comfortable with it on the track it's always felt very notchy and hard to power shift with. It's not that I'm a non driver either I went 10.74 with a NA 408 yesterday and this shifter. I just feel like I'm leaving a lot on the table not being able to hit the gear hard. My other car with a short stick and stock hurst I feel like I can shift a lot better. I'm only 5,9 165 so I'm not strong what shifter do you guys recommend that will actually give me some leverage. Stock hurst about as good as it gets? It's also not hydraulics related I've got a monster 11" and a tick master.

If you want leverage you either need a longer handle and/or a weighted shift ****.
GM hurst shifter is better than the stock gm shifter, but it's no where near as good as the Hurst Billet Plus shifter.
Furthermore going with a weighted shift ****(like TWM) will also make the shifts seem easier.

I like the pro 5.0 paired with the umi short stick. or keep the 5.0 stick for more leverage

As other said, if you need more leverage a cheap fix if it's comfortable, is simply a taller stick.

Exactly.... No shifter will fix that you need more leverage.... Go to a metal shop and bring the old stick have one made another 2" higher an get it threaded for whatever **** you want. Then try it and cut it down until you like it

Just curious, how many miles have you put on with that shifter? Out of the box the MGW is very notchy but now I wouldn't think twice about powershifting 2-3.

Some will.

Some shifters move the leverage point higher or lower to reduce travel at your hand for a "short throw" and all that silliness. So there will be variations on travel and leverage with different brands

From what I gather MGW is definitely one of the shorter throw of them all.

1-2 2-3 I don't have any trouble at all with. 4th is what I feel the most uncomfortable with. My stock hurst with a short stick and stock **** I can yank around fine. The MGW just doesn't give a weakling like my self enough of a wham. I actually did the anti venom mod and it does feel some better just driving around but I'm yet to get it to the track. I originally thought I needed to adjust the master but after screwing it a couple turns my pedal stuck to the floor. I'm pretty sure that's over extending the pressure plate. I'm going to try bleeding it also.

And mileage wise probably not many. Guessing maybe 2-3000. It's been in it a while I just haven't driven the car very much.

My guess is that THIS^^^ is probably the shifter with the most actual 'leverage', given how long the stick is.

The only way to cut down/shorten the stick on these is to cut it and then re-thread the stick, since it is all one piece all the way down into the actual base, and NOT a detachable stick like all of the rest.

BTW; I know everyone is talking about drag racing only on here, but the B&M is also a fave with most of the road racers/autocrossers over on frrax.com.
