Default M12 T56 Clarification

I just bought a T56 from an 04 gto and I am getting some conflicting information. I know the M12 trannys have the triple cone blockers and the different ratios than the f body, but is that the only difference? During some of my searches I have read that the blockers are carbon fiber and it has a steel 3-4 fork. Can anyone clarify that for me? I want to build it for 600-700 hp but I don't want to buy more than what I need! Thanks!

The GTO is a 2.97 ratio unit and uses multi piece carbon fiber lined synchronizer rings like the C5 Z06 but packaged like an F body with a different shifter on it.

Does it have the steel 3-4 fork or aluminum?

Pretty much anything 2003-on, including the GTO, is an iron 3-4 shift fork.
