Does YOUR Clutch Setup need a Shim from Tick
I got the printed instructions with my Tick Performance rebuilt T56 on how to shim. The printed instructions are apparently mistaken. The instructions start out with 1/16" (0.0625) to 1/8" (0.125). Then in the same paragraph, it states .125" to .200". Imagine my confusion. So, I went to Ticks webpage. It is different than the printed instructions. The webpage says 3/16" (0.1875) to 1/8" (0.125). Then both the printed and webpage instructions say to use 0.125" to 0.200 "So, I called Tick. Alex told me to use 125" to .200".
I asked why the printed instructions and webpage are confusing. He was unable to really explain it. That makes sense, as he is not the webmaster.
I am glad I called and I appreciate the help that Tick gave me. I hope my posting here helps.
Bottom line, use 0.125" to 0.200". Do not use 1/16" to 1/8". Do not use 3/16" (0.1875) to 1/8" (0.125).

Huh. That's cute. I just did this Monday. I came up with a difference of .097. Which fell between the 1/16" and 1/8" window. Thought I was golden. So I installed it without a shim. Maybe they should change the write up sticky.
