Monster stg 1 vs 2 - can't decide which to get
Clutch went out 2 to 3 years ago, so I’m getting the full hydraulic kit from Tick performance but I can’t make a decision between Monster stg 1 and stg 2. My car has 169k miles, original motor, tranny and rear-end. It has full bolt ons, and the only other major mod I’m going to do is a cam. This car will most likely never see the track, and is just a weekend/highway car. Obvious choice is stage 1, right? Any reasons to not get the stage 1? TIA!

Also it has some room to grow if you choose. We all know how cars can snowball, LOL

I agree that you should move up to the level 2. I opted for the level 3 (good to 700 rwhp and 700 rwtq). I only make around 450 rwhp, so the stage 3 is a little overkill, but I don't plan to stop there. If I add a nitrous setup to the car, or if I decide to ever go the FI route, my clutch/hydraulics setup will already be built to handle it. I doubt there is much, if any, difference in drivability from the Stage 1 to the Stage 2.

I have a full bolt on Firehawk and I went with the level 2 with the stock weight flywheel and I love it! I have about 5k miles on it with zero issues grabs hard when you want it to, and engages smooth. I would also say a tick master is a must.

Definitely level 2. A clutch is one of those things were going a little too much is not necessarily a bad thing. I have level 3 and it is a bit hairy, but you get used to it.
