Shift knob style?
Looks like it is intended to have a press-on **** with a key of sorts at the yop to limit rotation. Most aftermarket ***** will be threaded.What did the place that sold you the lever say went with it? Or, wht did you take off it?
Assuming there is enough diameter to this , you could thread it for a threaded A-M ****.

I see the same thing as Calhoon.
You could always machine a small flat on it for a set screw. Hopefully you find the proper/intended style, but there's a several feasible ways to make or modify something that would work and look just as good.
