McLeod Adj. Master Solves Clutch Problem
.
I have been having an annoying a$$ clutch problem basically ever since I put my Spec 3 and 01-02 slave in (about year and a half ago). Would shift fine at normal throttle, but everyonce and awhile at WOT & High RPMs it would not shift into the next gear (probably once a week or more). Clutch would drop to the floor and I would have to double/triple pump it to get pressure again. Very annoying and caused me to have a few close races with cars that shouldn't have be close.
I tried doing the drill mod (helped alittle, but not much), replacing my stock master with a brand new GM master, replaced my 01-02 slave with a brand new 01-02 slave ... nothing fixed the problem.
Decided to give the McLeod Adj. Master a try and after ripping it around for the past few days, I can officially say that it did the trick. Pedal is alittle harder to press now, but the shifts are like butter. Adjustable engagement point rocks, and I have dialed in my perfect shifting spot (very close to the top, with about an inch of play) and it allows me to make decently quicker shifts then when I had to press the clutch all the way to the floor like I did before.
Oh, and the clutch fluid doesn't turn BLACK anymore as it used to, still nice and clear after a few days of beating on it.
McLeod Master = 2 thumbs up. Nice piece and I recommend it.

I'm curious how much you adjusted you it in length? I have one and will have it installed soon......................it appeared to be screwed all the way down when I took it out of the box...............just curious where you ended up leaving it (what length?)

If I remember correctly I unscrewed it about a half inch from where it was, and it fit nice ..... you can just take it off and unscrew it / screw it in more as you please, there is just a small clip holding it onto the pedal, u remove that and turn the end of the MC rod to find where you like it .... it's pretty simple.
For starters, just install it and adjust it to where the pedal lands on the stop ... then you can make fine adjustments from there.

I'm having the same problem as you had. I have the SPEC lightweight p.p., 6 pad ceramic disc, and Fidanza flywheel. My point of engagement is closer to the floor. I hate it like this. By the way my car is an 04 Viper SRT. I've came to this site as it seems to have a wealth of information that is very applicatable to my car. Hope no one takes offence to my having the wrong car.
How doe's the adj. clutch master work, and can it be made to work on the other type cars.

As far as the adjustable master goes, I am not sure if this piece would fit on your viper, but you could definately give McLeod a call and ask them, they may even have one that does work for your car.
Basically, you just adjust the rod length, which brings your engagement point up or down. There is a write-up on making your stocker adjustable floating around this board also, just do a search for it.
