T56 6th gear issue!

T56 6th gear issue! Just rebuilt my T56 and it goes into all gears smoothly except 6th. The transmission acts like it's not even there, no grinding or anything. The transmission drives perfectly fine with the exception of no 6th gear

You have not said where you got your rebuild parts. A mix of short thow VS "long" throw parts can cause this. I suspect a newer 5/6 synchro with an older T56 box. What are you rebuilding?

The specific link of where I got my rebuild kit is http://www.thegearbox.org/catalog/it...17/3503984.htm it all came from one full kit (synchros, bearings, shims, etc.). I also bought a new 2nd and 3rd gear since we're chewed up. And for specifics on the transmission, it's a complete rebuild for the T56 for the 1996 camaro

Also if it helps, when I got the car, the shifter was completely missing, plate and all so I got a B&M shifter. Heres the link for it: http://m.summitracing.com/parts/bmm-45052
